J'adore Dior

When all your makeup runs out at the same time and it hits payday, it can only mean one thing, hello shopping..

I've always used MAC products previously, purely because they were the first products I found which matched my awfully pale skin tone best. I thought this time I would mix it up a bit and try something new. I heard on the grapevine Dior was meant to be very good, so I popped into John Lewis in Southampton and Laura, the loveliest sales assistant ever, removed my makeup and transformed my face with several Dior products. Before this, my skin was looking dry and yuck, so I was won over immediately.

Dior Star Foundation - I LOVE this product. The best thing about this foundation is that you don't feel like you're wearing any and despite it feeling so light on the skin, it gives a natural non-cakey looking medium coverage with the option for it to be built up as required. It's hydrating and leaves your complexion flawless, with a dewy finish. The foundation also has a really nice scent to it, not that it's particularly a factor most people consider when buying makeup but hey.. added bonus. At £32 for a 30ml bottle, it is high end price wise, however I'm willing to pay a little more when it makes a noticeable difference, my foundation does usually last me a while which is even more of a reason to splurge out. You must try it  - I was given a 7 day sample to test before buying the full size. I also conveniently had 3200 points on my boots card so technically didn't have to spend any money, woopa.

Dior Skinflash Primer - Just brilliant. My friend used this on me a while back and I just knew I had to have it. Again, it smells beaaaaautiful and the application is a dream and has the softest built in brush ever. It brightens up your skin immediately and gives you an amazing glow, creating the perfect base pre foundation.

Now I have to talk about the Dior Backstage BlenderThis is a MUST HAVE! don't seem to get on with makeup brushes very well and find a sponge so much more convenientI've used several other beauty blender's and one was so rubbish it ripped so I was put off until now. With the Backstage Blender, foundation is so easy to apply and it works wonders in creating perfectly consistent coverage. The best thing is it doesn't seem to suck up all the foundation, it's firm and it's egg shape means you can cover all the hard-to-reach places. I had imagined it was going to be at least £20 or above, but I was pleasantly surprised. At only £12 and a high competitor with other brands, it's selling fast, so be quick if you want one.. there were only two left in stock which was fate for me and Alice Spake. Of course we bought them.

  1. Of course we did! I love mine! Just need to pick up the foundation now xx
