Re:So Southampton Launch Event

Re:So Southampton Decor

On Tuesday evening I was very kindly invited along to the VIP re-launch of Re:So Southampton which was officially opened by Barry Laden MBE.

Re:So initially launched in 2012 and was the first fully fledged student enterprise retail store to open in the UK, offering a selection of clothing, designed and created by university students, as well as selling a mixture of fashion accessories, homeware and books.

We were provided on arrival with our VIP goody bags, lime cordial, prosecco and some yummy macaroons, with Orange Rooms very own, DJ Ratzi in supply of the tunes.

There is a unique feel about the store, retro with a modern twist, if that's a thing? A welcoming environment, offering a selection of products for everyone. The upstairs is used for educational projects, lectures and seminars, I may not go to uni but that sounds like a pretty ideal space if you ask me.

The most popular item of the evening was most certainly the ENVY clutches created by Lucy Ballard. They were lovely plus, very reasonable, meaning if you need more than one it's totally ok.

Finally, somewhere I can go to buy fashion books without feeling totally out of place, let's just say bookshops aren't my thing so with Re:So providing quite the selection, happy days. I spent most of the evening deciding whether to by the 'British Fashion Designers' book and kept going back to it, the super pretty, display worthy cover with Mossy on the front was highly convincing, so I got it. I'm excited to have a read.

A big thanks to the team at Re:So for such a lovely evening, thoroughly enjoyed catching up with my fellow blogging girls and having the opportunity to meet others in the industry. I've not come across a store like it before, it is unique, wonderful and perfectly showcases the talent within Southampton. Oh I do love a local event.

It is definitely worth paying a visit, the public launch is tomorrow from 9am, so if you're quick enough you may even be able to nab yourself an exclusive goody bag... oooh and let me know what you think if you do pop in.

Have a good weekend!
