LUSH Blogger Event

Last night myself and a group of lovely blogging girls were invited to LUSH in Southampton for their first ever blogger event. Now as you know, if you've ever been to a LUSH store, the first thing you notice is the overwhelming aroma of the shop, followed by the amazing array of colours. I think it's probably the most photogenic shop, ever. I woke up this morning smelling delightful.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the super lovely staff who were on hand with drinks, a selection of delicious nibbles and some fab cupcakes (FYI, the cakes were vegan and tasted amazing).

The evening started with a good old ice breaker activity. We were paired up with someone who we hadn't met before and given a short period of time to get the lowdown whilst using the LUSH massage bars to give a hand/arm massage - I did not have a clue they even existed, pretty cool little products.

After mingling, having a browse and filling up on yummy food, we moved onto the second activity -  a tutorial on how to make face masks. Turns out, with all the right ingredients its pretty simple to make your own. My personal fave was 'Catastrophe Cosmetic', purely because I don't like the smell of any chocolate smelling products yet, I could eat chocolate all day, doesn't really make sense does it?!

Catastrophe Cosmetic Face Mask Ingredients

Catastrophe Cosmetic - 'A calming and moisturising fresh face mask packed with blueberries, calamine and chamomile, rose, and almond oils to soothe and soften the skin'.

Cupcake Face Mask Ingredients/ Making Process

Cupcake - 'Rhassoul mud, which is highly absorbent, works with cocoa powder to draw out all the dirt and impurities and give a deep cleanse. Fresh mint stimulates and tones the skin, whilst linseed and cocoa butter soften and moisturise'.

We then moved on to the Emotional Brilliance colour wheel. You close your eyes, the wheel is spun and a cloud of smoke appears, when the wheel stops, you open them and immediately pick the three colours which first come to mind. These three colours apparently suggest your strength/ weakness, subconscious and your aspiration which then relate to the beauty products e.g. lip liner, eyeshadow, blusher that is best suited to you at that specific time. I picked the three colours which meant, charm, drive & in charge.

Now I have to admit, I've only ever used a couple of LUSH products, but have definitely been won over by the staff and their passion towards the company. They're very willing to inform you of how the product works and all in between. The company itself has great ethics and I think its perfect if you can find a product you like which is natural. A big positive to add, whilst i'm floating their boat, is the fact they are against animal testing.

Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to the team at LUSH Southampton for hosting such a wonderful event, considering it was the first one which has been held in the store, I'd say they did a pretty perfect job. It was great to meet some local bloggers and get to know a bit about the products. Very glad to have been part of it.

I'm really excited to try the selection of products I received in my fabulous goodie bag.

PS. Watch this space for an upcoming giveaway...

  1. Those cakes look delicious and I'm surprised the served fruit- not enough blogger events serve fruit.
I can't stand the chocolate face mask/anything chocolate sented either but likewise fuelled by chocolate.

  4. So in April, my husband and I had a party here and we both have no regrets with choosing this venue for event planning. This place is so beautiful.
