London Fashion Weekend || Part 1

Following the buzz of London Fashion Week, along comes London Fashion Weekend, a glamorous showcase which presents 4 days of designer shopping, catwalk shows, hair & beauty sessions and insider talks from within the industry.

Definitely the best event for all the fashionista's out there who haven't yet secured tickets to LFW itself. Hint.. Me.

Yes the sun was shining, what a miracle.

On Friday, upon arrival, we were greeted by the lovely staff who directed us to collect our free goody bag, designed by the man himself, Julien Macdonald. I love love love the Essie 'Naughty Nautical' glitter nail varnish, it's such a beautiful colour. I had been meaning to purchase one of the Babylips after seeing all the hype, so these turned out to be pretty handy freebies.

We headed into Somerset House after having a walk round the courtyard and the first thing that caught our eye was the fab Bueno Lounge, free chocolate is always the best way to start the day. Obviously we took advantage of the free back, neck & shoulder massage too, so booked in a slot.

(The massage was heavenly and well.. maybe I did accidentally fall asleep).

Time for a quick browse around the designer pop-up shops..

This year at LFWend there was the opportunity to shop some of the items as seen on the catwalk.

The Maybelline girls were on hand to talk us through their current products, it's always nice to be able to test and try before you buy. Mix & Match boxes had been created especially for LFWend, both of which had a selection of Babylips and nail polishes revealing the hot colours for SS14.

Certainly no shortage

Whilst having some photo booth fun, we were approached and asked to be filmed by Maybelline and well let's just say i'll never make it as an actress. Cringe. Thankfully they only wanted to use the video for in house purposes. Phew.

The Maybelline beauty room - whilst we were here, I decided to get colour matched. Seeing as I am really pale finding a foundation which doesn't make me orange is a mission in itself, ever since turning to MAC I haven't used anything else just because the colour is so perfect, however I was impressed by the coverage of the 'Super stay, Better skin' products, especially the concealer which successfully covered of all the evil spots that have decided to appear on my face.

This year's host of London Fashion Weekend was the irish beauty Angela Scanlon, who did an amazing job of presenting each show. The trend show was styled by THEOUTNET.COM, home to over 250 of the world's most exciting brands, at a fraction of the price. They showcased the top four trends, Precious Metals, Flower Power, Lace Embrace & Good Sport, all of which had some gorgeous pieces.

We made a quick exit from the show to ensure we got over to The Vodafone Lounge in time to hear the talk from ELLE's Beauty Director, Sophie Beresiner. Sophie gave advice and discussed all the wild and wonderful SS14 trends, from gold eyebrows, to slicked back hair.

The second talk of the day was from lingerie designer Fifi Chachnil, celebrating 30 years in fashion. Fifi explained her career and how she got to where she is today with presenter Antonia O'Brien. We had the opportunity to meet Fifi, who is just the cutest little lady, with impeccable style.

"I create to dress the feminine silhouette"

The Designer catwalk show was Farhi By Nicole Farhi, showcasing its AW14 womenswear collection. The whole collection, casual yet oozing style. Full of neutral soft tones with the occasional burst of colour, finished with beautiful pointed heels.

Such a great day with one of my best friends! Can't wait for next season!
